Kamala Harris

Kamala Devi Harris is an American politician. Born on the 20th of October 1964, she was the 49th Vice President of the United States. She is also the first female vice-president and highest-ranking female official of U.S. History, as being the first African American and second Asian American vice president. A member of the Democratic Party, she has been the attorney general of California between 2011 and 2017 and was a United States senator representing California until 2021. Harris was born in Oakland and attended Howard University, University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Harris began her career at the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. Then, she was recruited by the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. In 2003, she was the San Francisco district attorney. Harris was elected Attorney-General of California in 2010 and was elected again in 2014. Harris served as the junior United States senator from California from 2017 to 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Sanchez in the 2016 Senate election, becoming the second African American woman and the first South Asian American to serve in the United States Senate. Harris was a senator who fought for health care and federal de-scheduling of cannabis. The path to citizenship for immigrants who are not legally recognized. The DREAM Act bans assault weapons and progressive tax reform. Her name is well-known due to the direct questioning she conducted of Trump government officials during Senate hearings.
